The absence of PRESENCE... for children in conflict zones Childhood - interrupted. Silenced. Scattered across borders. Millions of children exist in the shadows of war - displaced, unseen, unheard. Wounded, orphaned, massacred. What remains when laughter fades? From this stark reality, emerges The Absence of PRESENCE, the latest production by the Aditi Mangaldas Dance Company. Choreographed by Aditi, with an exceptional ensemble of Kathak dancers and musicians, this powerful work journeys into the depth of conflict; yet shows the human spirit persisting against all odds and striving to hope; building worlds of fantasy and beauty. Commissioned by the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai, in collaboration with the Symphony Orchestra of India, the work will premiere at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre in Mumbai on 31st October and 1st November 2026.
