Dr. Ch. Ajay Kumar, also known as Ajay Kumar Chimuduri, is a renowned Kuchipudi dancer, choreographer, and guru from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. He began his stage performances over 30 years ago, earning significant acclaim for his contributions to Kuchipudi dance. Dr. Kumar is particularly recognized for his evocative portrayal of female characters, including Satyabhama, Mahishasura Mardhani, and Durga, a skill that draws comparisons to the legendary Vedantam Satyanarayana Sarma. His extensive career boasts more than 4000 performances across India and internationally, with tours to countries such as the United States of America, the United Kingdom, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. He had the honor of performing before the then-President of India, Pratibha Patil, in Bangalore. Dr. Ajay Kumar holds a position as a lecturer at the Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Music and Dance College in Vijayawada. He is also associated with Hamsadhvani Nrityalaya, an institution dedicated to Kuchipudi dance. His expertise led him to participate in the Jarige International Dance Festival (also known as the Bhagya Chandra Dance Festival) in Guwahati, where he was noted as one of only three Andhra dance artistes and the youngest dancer to perform at the event. He has also conducted demonstrative lectures for the Spic Macy organization. Awards & Honours: A' grade classical dance artiste in Doordarshan.
