Alexandra Indira Sanyal is an Indian classical dancer and teacher based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She commenced her training in Bharatanatyam at the age of five under the tutelage of Neena Gulati. Subsequently, she expanded her studies to include Kuchipudi and Odissi. Sanyal completed her Arangetram in 2012. Since 2012, she has been an active member of the Triveni Ensemble. She began teaching regularly in 2021 at the Triveni School of Dance, where she imparts instruction in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi. Beyond her contributions to classical dance, Alexandra Indira Sanyal is also a strategist and storyteller. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Design Studies in Critical Conservation at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, with her academic work focusing on constructed narratives of heritage and the interplay of urban identity, preservation, and politics in post-colonial nations, particularly India. She is also the founder of Shrishti Studios, a creative consultancy.
