Alice Bordoloi, also known as Alice Amrapali, is a Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher with Indian and German heritage, raised in Switzerland. Her journey in dance commenced at the age of 14, fostering a profound connection to her Indian roots through classical Indian dance, which has enriched her cultural identity. Alice is a dedicated student of esteemed gurus Monika Kunz and Nirupama Rajendra, and, more recently, Aparna Raghavan in Geneva. Her foundational training is rooted in the Kalakshetra tradition. Under the tutelage of Monika and Nirupama, she further expanded her dance vocabulary by delving into the intricacies of Caris and the 108 Karanas. Beyond Bharatanatyam, Alice pursued contemporary dance training at the Zurich School for Dance and Theatre. Her professional dance career includes performing as a company dancer with the Chitralekha Dance Company in Birmingham, dancing for Nina Rajarani in London, and for the Radha Kalpa Dance Company under Director Rukmini Vijayakumar in Bangalore. She was also a dancer in the "RAMA & SITA – Indian Dance Theatre" production, which was showcased in November 2019 and March 2020. Alice is an active educator, teaching Bharatanatyam in-person classes for beginners at AEKA Academy in Geneva, where she is also a senior faculty member and acts as a substitute teacher. She has taught Bharatanatyam in Zurich for many years. In addition to her dance pursuits, Alice is a certified Yoga teacher and holds a Master's degree in English Literature.
