Amrita Ajai Thirumalai is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and Carnatic vocalist, known for her performances in both India and the United States. She is the daughter and a senior disciple of Guru Sridevi Ajai Thirumalai, the Artistic Director of the Natyamani School of Dance in Boston, USA. Amrita began her Bharatanatyam training at a young age under her mother's tutelage, dedicating over 12 years to the art form. She completed her Bharatanatyam arangetram in 2014 at the age of 11 in Bangalore, India, an event that garnered appreciation from senior gurus, critics, and art enthusiasts. Beyond her dance prowess, Amrita is also a talented Carnatic musician. She studies under Guru Tara Bangalore and successfully completed her Carnatic vocal arangetram in 2017 at the age of 14. She has since presented numerous solo Carnatic concerts in both India and the US. As a Bharatanatyam performer, Amrita has given several solo and group recitals, participating in various cultural events and charity programs, including those for Akshaya Patra. Her performances include appearances at the Shantala Arts Trust Monthly Concert Series and the Sri Venugopala Krishnaswamy Temple in Bangalore in 2015, as well as the Learnquest Music Dance Festival. She has also been featured on Shankara TV. Amrita actively contributes to the Natyamani School of Dance by assisting with teaching dance classes and has further refined her skills by attending workshops with renowned artists.
