Smt. Amutha Dhandapani is a distinguished figure in Indian classical dance, specializing in Bharatanatyam. Her journey in Bharatanatyam commenced under the tutelage of Smt. Vijayalakshmi Shanmugam Pillai. She further honed her skills and knowledge as a disciple of Kalaimamani Sri. Thanjai Arunachalam Pillai. Smt. Dhandapani also earned the "Aadal Kalaimani" Diploma from the Tamil Nadu Government Music College. She is the founder and head of Bharathalaya, a dance school in Coimbatore, which she has successfully operated for 36 years as of December 2021. Through Bharathalaya, she has choreographed numerous dance ballets, and her students have performed in various programs both within India and internationally. Her dedication to maintaining the purity and traditional essence of Bharatanatyam has earned her several esteemed titles, including “Aadal Kalaimani,” “Natya Kalaimani,” “Natya Thilagam,” “Natya Kavalar,” “Bharatha Kalai Chumar,” “Aachaarya,” and “Nrithya Rathna.” Awards & Honours: Aadal Kalaimani, Natya Kalaimani, Natya Thilagam, Natya Kavalar, Bharatha Kalai Chumar, Aachaarya, Nrithya Rathna.
