Anandi Srinivas is a Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and choreographer, and the founder-director of Navarasa Academy. Her journey in dance commenced at the age of 10 when she enrolled in the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts. With a career spanning over 25 years, Anandi Srinivas received comprehensive training not only in Bharatanatyam but also in various other art forms including Drama, Kalaripaitu (Indian Martial Arts), Contemporary Art forms, Puppetry, Mask making, Voice training, Yoga, Mud mirror work, Costume designing, and diverse Indian folk dances. During her tenure at Darpana Academy, Anandi Srinivas performed in numerous classical and contemporary dance dramas choreographed by esteemed artists such as Smt. Mrinalini Sarabhai and Dr. Mallika Sarabhai. She also performed in various folk dances through the Janavak Repertoire. Her collaborative work extends internationally, having choreographed and worked with major directors from countries including the U.K., France, USA, Italy, Iran, Colombia, Australia, Yugoslavia, Scotland, and the Netherlands. In 2004, Anandi Srinivas moved to Tampa, Florida, where she established the Navarasa Academy. Under her guidance, Navarasa Academy has developed into a successful institution, providing extensive training in Bharatanatyam, Folk dance, Yoga, and Contemporary dance forms. The academy also offers instruction in Indian percussion instruments like Mridangam, Kanjira, Ghatam, Tabla, and vocal music, with her husband, renowned Mridangam artist Venupuri Srinivas, leading the percussion classes. Anandi Srinivas also conducts Bharatanatyam classes at the Chinmaya Mission Orlando.
