Anika Yechuri is an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer and youth instructor, having dedicated over 17 years to the art form. She is a senior student at the Kalamandapam Kuchipudi Dance School, founded by Smt. Sushma Yechuri, who is also her guru. Anika completed her rangapravesam in 2018, marking her formal debut in Kuchipudi. She has garnered accolades for her performances across the USA and India, including at prestigious events such as the Silicon Andhra International Kuchipudi Convention. Beyond performing, Anika is actively involved in choreography, serving as the lead choreographer and captain of Natya UW at the University of Washington. In this role, she has created innovative pieces that blend traditional Kuchipudi with contemporary elements, earning recognition at various competitions and cultural showcases. Currently pursuing a degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington, Anika applies her technical and creative skills to teaching younger dancers. She is known for her thoughtful and precise instruction, acting as a dedicated mentor who combines strong technique with artistic expression to inspire the next generation of Kuchipudi artists.
