Anita Peter is a distinguished Indian classical dancer specializing in Mohiniyattam, and the visionary founder of Lasya Drutha, a prominent center for performing and fine arts in Telangana, India. Her journey into classical dance began later in life, as she started learning Mohiniyattam when her daughter was approximately one and a half years old, around 2002-2003. Despite the challenges of balancing family responsibilities, she dedicated herself to the art form, practicing diligently whenever possible. As a performer, Anita Peter is celebrated for her graceful and lyrical Mohiniyattam recitals. Her performance titled 'Nrithya Samarpan' at the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University Auditorium in January 2018, showcased a repertoire of eight pieces, earning her a thundering applause for her structural finesse and inventive choreography. She is recognized among Hyderabad's accomplished dancers. Through Lasya Drutha, founded around 2014, she has created a nurturing environment for music, dance, and theatre, fostering learning without barriers. Her students regularly perform at various events, and she herself participates in renowned dance festivals. Beyond her contributions to dance, Anita Peter is a multifaceted personality, also known as a biker, actor, model, and motivational speaker. She has utilized her platform to advocate for social causes, including mental health awareness, launching short films based on her book "To Win Your Battles STAY ALIVE" in September 2020. She also conducted a workshop titled “Uncovering emotions through Navarasa- the expressions in life” in December 2018. Her inspiring journey and dedication to her passions, including dance, were highlighted in her TEDxSJCETPalai talk in May 2018.
