Anita Praseed

Anita Praseed is an Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and teacher, and the founder and artistic director of Prarthana School of Dance. She began her dance training at the age of three under the guidance of Kalasadanam Sethu Master and his wife, Sheeja Sethu, and later under Smt. Vijayam. Praseed is trained in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi. She continues her ongoing training in Mohiniyattam under Dr. Neena Prasad, Bharatanatyam under Guru Smt. Divyaa Unni, and Nattuvangam under Kalaimamani Kalamadalam Karthika Harikrishnan. Additionally, she trains in Chenda melam under Kalamandalam Sivadas, completing her arangetram in Panchari melam in 2023. An engineering graduate from BITS Pilani, Anita Praseed chose to pursue her passion for dance, choreographing her first dance at the age of 16. Since 2011, she has choreographed and led numerous dances, including Mega Thiruvathira featuring over 100 ladies, for local associations in the valley. Born into a family of artists who pioneered stage shows and movie production, she was raised in Dubai and has experience acting in a movie and participating in prestigious stage shows from a young age.
