Anjali Patil is an acclaimed Canadian-born Kathak dancer, choreographer, and artistic director. She received her extensive training in India under the tutelage of renowned masters of classical Indian dance, including Padmabhushan Kumudini Lakhia and the late Pandita Rohini Bhate. Patil is the founder and artistic director of Aroha Fine Arts, a registered non-profit organization established in 2005 in Ottawa, Canada, dedicated to promoting professional classical Indian arts and culture. [7, 9, 10, 11] Through Aroha Fine Arts, she has developed a unique Kathak curriculum that draws from both the Lucknow and Jaipur Gharanas, emphasizing rhythmic precision, refined technique, expression, and cultural knowledge, taught under the traditional guru-shishya parampara. [7] Anjali Patil is a sought-after teacher and coach, conducting classes and workshops in Canada, India, and the Middle East. [3, 4, 6, 7] Her career as a performer and choreographer has seen her present original works at prestigious events globally, including the Canada Dance Festival, Delhi International Arts Festival, the Junos, the International Film Festival of India, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Kathak Festival, and the Pune Festival. [2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9] Beyond her artistic endeavors, Patil holds an M.A. in Public Administration from Carleton University and a B.Comm. from the University of Ottawa, and has a background in the public sector and cultural policy. [3, 4, 6] She is also the producer of ArohaFest, Canada's first bilingual festival celebrating the arts of India, which she launched in 2017 to honor Canada's 150th birthday, and co-produces Canada Yuva Mahotsav.
