Anjana Dongre is a respected Indian classical dancer, guru, and choreographer specializing in Bharatanatyam. She received her training under the tutelage of Guru Pt Venugopal Pillai and Guru Smt Jayshree Pillai. Dongre is the founder and head of the Nrityangan Dance Academy, also known as Nrityangan Academy of Fine Arts, located in Mumbai, India. Through her academy, she imparts her knowledge and passion for Bharatanatyam to numerous students, fostering the next generation of dancers. Her dedication to the art form is evident through her performances and choreographic works. In November 2019, her students presented "Samarpanam – An ode to a Legend" at the Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Auditorium in Dadar, Mumbai, as a tribute to her gurus, showcasing their choreographies and compositions. Dongre herself choreographed a Thillana for this event. She has also performed at significant dance festivals, including the Tarang Ratna 2018 festival in Thane, Maharashtra, where she presented 'Devi Thodaya Mangalam' and 'Tillana'. She has been actively teaching Bharatanatyam since at least 2005.
