Ankita Khanna is a New York-based Bharatanatyam artist, choreographer, educator, and arts professional whose journey bridges movement, wellness, and cultural storytelling. She began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of three under Guru Smt. Revathi Srinivasraghavan in Mumbai and continues to learn and teach under Guru Sahasra Sambamoorthi in New York City. With 27 years of experience in dancing, teaching, and performing, Ankita is passionate about incorporating anatomy into dance, ensuring her students understand their bodies better and dance safely. In 2016, she captained a Bollywood-style Broadway musical in Dubai, guided by the iconic Shiamak Davar. She also works with the NY Board of Education, conducting workshops and assemblies on various Indian dance forms. Ankita holds certifications as a personal fitness trainer from the American College of Sports Medicine and is a certified yoga instructor. In 2017, she won an online dance competition called Art Vibe. She is an instructor at Shehnaaz Dance Academy, which serves as her official online presence, and showcases her work through her Instagram and YouTube channels.
