Anoushka Savgur is an Indian classical dancer primarily trained in Bharatanatyam. She commenced her Bharatanatyam journey approximately 11 years prior to the creation of her personal website, diligently mastering the fundamental skills and steps of the classical form. Her dedication culminated in her arangetram, a significant debut performance, after a year of intensive practice, despite facing injuries during her training. Savgur is an active performer, presenting solo and group Bharatanatyam pieces at various events in the San Diego area. Beyond her classical training, Anoushka Savgur has also made significant contributions to the collegiate dance circuit. She served as a choreography captain for Raas Ruckus, a competitive Raas-Garba dance team at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). Raas Ruckus, established in 2002, participates in the national Raas competitive circuit, performing traditional Gujarati folk dance styles like Raas and Garba, often with a contemporary, fast-paced twist for competitions. In April 2025, Savgur, along with her team Raas Ruckus, achieved a notable milestone by performing at the Coachella music festival. They shared the stage with Indo Warehouse, a collective of South Asian artists based in New York. This performance was particularly significant for Savgur, as it marked one of her final major Raas-Garba performances as a graduating senior from UCSD. She reflected on the experience as a celebration of the strong bonds formed with her teammates.
