Anugraha Sridhar is a distinguished Bharatanatyam artiste, Carnatic vocalist, and theatre performer, known for her work bridging classical tradition with contemporary expression. She is a senior disciple of Padmabhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, under whom she has trained for over two decades, specializing in the 108 Karanas derived from Dr. Padma's research of the Natya Shastra. Anugraha has served as teaching faculty at Nrithyodaya School for dance in Chennai and is the founder and artistic director of Anugraha Arts – Centre for Bharathanrityam, established in New Jersey in 2024. Her extensive career includes international performances and teaching engagements across India, the United States, and Europe, in cities such as Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, and London. She has graced esteemed venues like the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, Jamaica Arts Center, Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., and The Music Academy in Chennai. Anugraha was invited by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) to tour South Africa alongside her guru. She is also a senior collaborator with New York's Jiva Dance, contributing to innovative choreography and movement research. As an educator, Anugraha mentors dancers across the U.S., focusing on advanced body conditioning and expressive technique, and is dedicated to sharing the knowledge of the Karanas with her students. Beyond dance, she is a trained Carnatic vocalist and has contributed as a playback singer for Tamil films. She holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Sydney and is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts from SASTRA University, Tanjore. Her artistry has been recognized with the Vocational Excellence Award in Bharatanatyam in 2023 and an honor from the New Jersey State Senate in 2024 for her contributions to the arts.
