Aparna Shastry is an Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam. She is an ardent disciple of SNA awardee Guru Smt. Radha Sridhar, under whom she has trained for over two decades. Shastry holds a master's degree in Bharatanatyam from Jain University, Bangalore, and also possesses a postgraduate degree in Business Studies. She serves as the Creative Director of Kala UPĀSANA, a school of dance based in Bangalore. Currently residing in Mumbai, she is also associated with P.A.V.I. (Pavitra Art Visual Institute) alongside Pavitra Bhat. As a performer and choreographer, Aparna Shastry has presented her work on platforms such as the NATIONAL PROGRAMME OF DANCE for DD NATIONAL / DD 1. In 2024, she was honored with the Nalanda Nritya Nipuna award by the Nalanda Dance Research Centre's Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya Mumbai. She is actively involved in new productions, including “PARĀ: VOICES OF RAMAYANA,” an original production featuring 30 dancers from her dance school, scheduled for June 2025, and “VARSHOTSAV 2025,” a celebration of 22 years of dance, where she contributes to the concept and choreography. She also conducts workshops, such as a Javali workshop for her students. Awards & Honours: Nalanda Nritya Nipuna (2024).
