🪔 About

Arathi Srinivas is a distinguished Bharatanatyam dancer and guru, known for her expertise in the Kalakshetra style. Her profound interest in classical dance began at the tender age of six, when she was accepted as a student by Guru Geetha Ananthanarayan, a notable achievement given she was younger than the usual starting age. Despite societal stereotypes in India regarding aspiring female dancers, her parents provided unwavering encouragement. She underwent disciplined training, achieving a distinction in the Senior Examination conducted by the Government of Karnataka and further pursuing the Vidwath curriculum. Throughout her career, Arathi Srinivas has captivated audiences with her dynamic stage presence, intricate foot patterns, expressive hand gestures, and impressive facial expressions. She actively participated in local theaters and performed in numerous dramas, including the prestigious Mysore Dasara Festival, as part of Smt. Yamuna Murthy's drama troupe. Her artistic endeavors also extended to acting in Kannada TV Serials, directed by Sri. Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, even while balancing the responsibilities of being a full-time mother and actress. She remained committed to her dance classes, never ceasing to learn. She was also an active member of Sri Vivekananda Kalakendra in Bangalore, where she participated in ballets and scripts focused on social causes. Arathi Srinivas has also composed many dance dramas. In 2006, Arathi Srinivas embarked on her teaching career, establishing her first class with six students in Memphis, Tennessee. She later founded Natyadwani – School of Bharatanatyam in Thousand Oaks, California, where she currently teaches over 75 students. Natyadwani offers comprehensive training in Kalakshetra Style Bharatanatyam, from basic to advanced levels, with a focus on dance theory and dance yoga. Her students consistently excel in the Akhila Gandharva Examinations, which are conducted by the Akhila Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, an Indian government-affiliated organization. Arathi Srinivas also extends her teaching reach through online classes, catering to students across various geographical locations. Awards & Honours: Award for choreographing a script (from Sri. Nagabharana).
