Arohi Dandawate is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, primarily recognized for her expertise in Kuchipudi. Her journey in classical dance commenced at the tender age of seven, when she began her Kuchipudi training under the tutelage of Smt. Divya Yeluri at the Nritya Madhavi School of Dance in Edison, New Jersey. This foundational training culminated in her dance debut, known as Rangapravesham, which she successfully completed in August 2022. Following this significant milestone, Dandawate has continued to refine her Kuchipudi artistry under the esteemed mentorship of Kum. Yamini Kalluri at the Kritya School of Dance. Her dedication to dance extends beyond Kuchipudi, as she has also actively integrated the study of Indian folk dance, guided by Smt. Madhavi Devasthale of Nupur School of Dance, and Odissi, under the instruction of Kum. Prithvi Nayak in Bengaluru, India, into her diverse practice. As a principal dancer with the Kritya Dance Ensemble, Arohi Dandawate has graced numerous prestigious stages. Her notable performances include appearances at the White House in Washington D.C., USA, and the Birla Science Centre in Telangana, India. She has demonstrated her versatility and skill in various dance dramas, performing both as part of a group and as an award-winning solo artist across the tristate area. Demonstrating her creative depth, Dandawate has recently embarked on developing her own choreographic compositions, including "Dawn on the Fall Equinox" and "bzz bzz...In the Queen's Cabinet," which are inspired by the inherent divinity she perceives in seemingly mundane experiences. Her artistic endeavors are not limited to dance; she is also a classical pianist, having pursued studies under Ms. Elena Leonova at the Mannes Preparatory School in New York City and subsequently under Prof. Scott Cuellar at Oberlin Conservatory. In addition to her profound commitment to the arts, Arohi Dandawate maintains a professional career as a postgraduate research associate at the Yale School of Medicine.
