Arunima Gupta is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, celebrated for her mastery of the Kuchipudi style. She commenced her training in Kuchipudi at the tender age of seven, under the tutelage of the renowned dancing duo, Padamashree Guru JayaRama Rao and Vanasree Rao. Her formal debut, known as Arangetram, took place in 1995 at the Triveni Kala Sangam in New Delhi. Recognized as one of India's most versatile leading young Kuchipudi dancers, Arunima Gupta has extensively performed across the nation, both as a solo artist and as an integral part of her gurus' performance team. Her performances have graced numerous prestigious venues and dance festivals, including the Andhra Day Celebrations in Hyderabad (1993), Hyderabad Arts Festival (1994), India International Centre, India Habitat Centre, Shringaramani Festival in Mumbai (2001), Qutab Festival (2003), Young Dancers Festival in Kolkata (2004), Legends of India Festival (2004, 2007), Kalidasa Festival at Nagpur (2004), Virasat Festival at Dehradun (2005), Mardol Classical Dance Festival at Goa (2006), and the Mahabalipuram festival in Chennai (2007). She has also performed a Jugalbandi with Kathak, choreographed by Pandit Birju Maharaj, at the Holi Ke Rang Mahotsav in March 2007. Arunima is particularly noted for her interactive dance presentations, often incorporating lecture-demonstration (lec-dem) elements to help audiences understand the nuances of *bhavas* and *mudras*. An example of this was her performance of the 'Nala Damyanti' story from the Mahabharata at the Malvia Durbar hall of Banaras Hindu University. Her talent has been acknowledged with several accolades, including the Government of India Sports Talent Search Scholarship (1991-1992), the Sahitya Kala Parishad Scholarship for Dance (1998), and the "Shringarmani" title from Sur Shringar Samsad. Furthermore, she is empanelled as an Established artiste at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (I.C.C.R.) and holds an 'A' grade artiste status with All India Radio and Doordarshan.
