Ashish Singh, also known as Nritya Manjari Das, is a renowned Kathak dancer, performer, choreographer, and teacher. Born in Varanasi, he commenced his Kathak training at a young age in 2002 under the guidance of Mrs. Sangita Sinha, continuing until 2007. He furthered his academic pursuits by completing Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti and earning a B.Mus. and M.P.A. in Kathak Dance from Banaras Hindu University. He refined his skills in both the Lucknow and Jaipur Gharanas under the tutelage of Dr. Vidhi Nagar and Prof. Ranjana Srivastava. Ashish Singh made his debut performance at the age of 11 at the 'Siti Mahotsav'. A significant highlight of his career was his performance at the 19th Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010, where he was choreographed by the legendary Pandit Birju Maharaj. He is particularly recognized for his expertise in the Lucknow Gharana of Kathak and is dedicated to promoting traditional dance forms. Currently residing in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, Ashish Singh imparts his knowledge of Kathak to students across India and to foreign students. He is also a graded artist for Doordarshan. His contributions to Kathak have been acknowledged with several accolades, including the Kashi Pratibha Samman in 2002, Bal Pratibha Samman in 2005, Navodit Kalakar in 2005, and the Surganga Kalanidhi Samman.
