Avani Gadre is a Kathak dancer based in Pune, India. She began her Kathak training at an early age of four, initially under the guidance of Guru Rekha Nadgauda and Smt. Aditi Nadgauda-Panse at Kirti Kala Mandir in Nashik. She later became a disciple of the Kathak exponent Guru Smt. Shama Bhate and is currently undergoing rigorous advanced training at the prestigious 'NADROOP - School of Kathak Dance' in Pune. Gadre holds a Master of Arts degree in Kathak with distinction from Lalit Kala Kendra, Savitribai Phule Pune University. As a vibrant Kathak dancer and aspiring choreographer, Avani Gadre is a key and lead member of the Nadroop troupe. She is recognized for her exploration of movement and abstraction in her performances. Her choreographic work includes "A Murder Mystery through Shadow Play in Kathak," created for the Madame Menaka Choreography Movement in 2018. Gadre has performed at numerous esteemed National Classical Dance festivals across India, including the Natrani Festival in Ahmedabad, Nishagandhi Festival in Kerala, Badalraag Festival in Bhopal, NCPA in Mumbai, Shaniwar Wada Festival in Pune, Konark Festival in Konark, and Swadheenta ke rang Fagun ke sang at Kathak Kendra in Delhi. She has also performed at the Bhavitavya Festival in 2019 and the 82nd Aundh Sangeet Mahotsav in 2022. In October 2025, she performed a Kathak duet with Ameera Patankar at the Shree Somteerth Sanskritk Mahotsav at the legendary Somnath Temple. She is also scheduled to perform at the Lonavala Khandala Sangeet Sammelan in 2025.
