Bhairavi Nedungadi

Bhairavi Nedungadi is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, performer, and educator, trained in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi. She hails from a family deeply rooted in the arts; her grandfather, Late Vasu Nedungadi, was a Krishnanattam artist, and her father, Late Padmanabhan Nedungadi, was instrumental in promoting Kathakali. Bhairavi began her dance journey at the age of four. She is a senior disciple of Guru Padmashree Kalamandalam Kshemavathi, under whom she also had her formal solo debut performance, or Arangetram, in Guruvayoor, India, at the age of 14. She furthered her training in Mohiniyattam under Guru Kshemavathi and is currently undergoing advanced training in the same form under Dr. Neena Prasad. Her Bharatanatyam training also includes tutelage under Sri Vaidhyanathan Balagurunathan, a Kalakshethra Alumini, and she has trained in Kathakali under Guru Kalamandalam Balasubramanian. Throughout her career, Bhairavi has performed for diverse audiences across India and the United States. She was a regular performer at school youth festivals in Kerala, where she earned the 'Kalathilakam' award and secured first place for Mohiniyattam in the All Kerala Interzone youth festival. Bhairavi is the founder and Artistic Director of Sreepadmam School of Dance, a classical dance institute based in Fremont, California, which offers training in Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam. Beyond her artistic pursuits, she holds a Master's degree in Structural Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington and works as an IT professional.
