Brigitta Hegedues is a dedicated dancer and teacher of Indian classical dance, primarily Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam, based in Munich, Germany. Born in Hungary, she permanently resides in Munich and holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Munich in 'German as a second language' and 'intercultural communication'. Her journey into Indian classical dance began in 2004 when she started Bharatanatyam lessons in Munich with Chandra Devi at Natyadhara, Center for Indian Dance and Culture, following the Kalakshetra style. Hegedues completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram in June 2009 under the guidance of Smt. Shyamala Surendran and Chandra Devi. Subsequently, she delved into Mohiniyattam, a temple dance from Kerala, also learning from Shyamala Surendran in India, and completed her Mohiniyattam Arangetram in Cochin in 2012. Since 2007, she has regularly traveled to India for intensive Gurukula training at the Dharani School of Performing Arts in Cochin with Smt. Shyamala Surendran. As a performer, Brigitta Hegedues regularly presents both Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam in Europe, including Germany, Hungary, and England, and has also performed in India, both solo and with the Dharani dance group. She is also a committed educator, having taught Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Bollywood Dance, and Indian Tribal Fusion Dance at the Natyadhara Dance School in Munich for several years. She currently offers ongoing courses in Schwabing, Munich, and children's dance lessons at the Aton Music School. Hegedues founded and leads her own institution, the Revathi Dance Indische Tanzakademie (also known as Revathi Dance Academy) in Munich. She also organizes dance trips to India for her students.
