Caroline Chin

Caroline Chin is a Singaporean dancer, actor, and musician specializing in Odissi, an Indian classical dance form. Born and raised in Singapore, she developed an early interest in theatre studies, which led her to explore dance and physical theatre. She is an alumna of the Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI), from which she graduated in 2018. Since her graduation, Chin has performed across Singapore, India, Bangkok, and Mexico, showcasing her versatility as an actor, dancer, and occasional musician. In 2019, she became a company dancer with Chowk Productions, where she continues her training in Odissi and also contributes as a teacher. Chin has engaged in collaborative projects with cultural institutions such as STPI and the National Gallery for the Singapore Biennale 2019. Her artistic approach is characterized by a preference for ambiguity in her role as a performer, aiming to create work that transcends strict categorical definitions. Beyond her dance career, she is also a violinist and practices film photography, often integrating these interests into her artistic endeavors. Her recent works in 2021 include performances and choreographies with Chowk Productions and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.
