Chanchal Hari is an accomplished Indian classical dancer and film artist, widely recognized in Malayalam Cinema and the field of dance. She commenced her Bharatanatyam training at the tender age of four under the esteemed Guru Kalakshetra Vilasini, a Sangeetha Nataka Academy award winner and a leading exponent of the Kalakshetra style in Kerala, India. Her dance career has seen her deliver numerous invited Bharatanatyam and semi-classical stage performances across India, the USA, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Rome, and the Persian Gulf countries. Her performances are celebrated for their innovative approach, rhythm, and grace, and she has been featured on Doordarshan (India's National Channel) and all leading Malayalam television channels (Surya, Asianet, Kairali). Beyond dance, Chanchal Hari is a familiar face in Malayalam entertainment. She began her career in modeling in 1997 and subsequently acted in critically acclaimed Malayalam films, including lead roles in "Ennu Swantham Janakikutty" (1998), "Ormacheppu," and "Rishivamsham." She has also hosted various popular talk shows, quizzes, and fashion programs on prominent Malayalam channels. Her contributions to the film industry extended to serving on the jury for the Filmfare Awards (Malayalam category) and other acting and dance awards. With a commitment to promoting Indian culture among younger generations in the West, Chanchal Hari founded Kalaanjali School of Arts in Morrisville, North Carolina, USA. The school is dedicated to the furtherance of Bharatanatyam and Indian semi-classical dance, offering classes for both children and adults at its studios in Cary/Morrisville/Apex and Fuquay-Varina/Holly Springs. She currently resides in the US with her husband, Harishankar, and their children, Niharin and Nila.
