Chirasrota Khuntia is an accomplished Indian classical Odissi dancer and instructor, recognized for her dedication and expressive performances. Her journey in Odissi began at the tender age of four, inspired by the Abhinaya (expression) aspect of the dance form. She received comprehensive training from several esteemed gurus, including Lingaraj Behera, Gobind Chandra Pal, Manoranjan Pradhan, and Minati Pradhan, and continues her training under the latter two. She is also a disciple of Guru Lingaraj Swain. Throughout her career, Khuntia has performed extensively as a soloist both within Odisha and across India. Her performances include a series of events for SPICMACAY in Uttarakhand Kumaon, where she shared the rich Odissi culture with students in various educational institutions. She has also showcased her talent at prestigious events such as the Shradhanjali Dance Festival, organized by the Adiguru Pankaj Charan Odissi Research Foundation in Bhubaneswar, where she presented the Odissi recital "Rasa Shritaam," choreographed by her guru Lingaraja Swain. Khuntia has also had the distinct honor of participating in a significant event at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Beyond her performing career, Chirasrota Khuntia is a dedicated educator. She serves as an instructor of Odissi dance at Satyabadi Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in the Satyabadi block of Puri district, Odisha. She has successfully nurtured a dance team comprising her disciples at the Mahavidyalaya and also offers online Odissi dance classes to students of all ages. Her commitment to the art form spans over three decades. In recognition of her artistic contributions, Chirasrota Khuntia was awarded the prestigious "B High Grade" by Prasar Bharati and Doordarshan Kendra. This national recognition followed a rigorous audition process conducted by the Central Dance Audition Board in New Delhi in 2024, where she was among 37 dancers selected from across India.
