Chithra Vivek is a highly accomplished Indian classical dancer and Carnatic singer, recognized for her profound dedication and passion for both art forms. She began her artistic journey at the tender age of four, initially training in Carnatic music under gurus Smt. Balasaraswathy, Smt. Girija Kumari, Smt. Pattamal, and later Smt. Radha for expert-level training in Chennai. Her Bharatanatyam training commenced under the guidance of renowned gurus Nalini Balakrishnan and Acharya Choodamani Smt. Anitha Guha. She further expanded her dance repertoire by learning Bharatanatyam and Mohiniattam from Smt. Charulatha and Smt. Gopika Varma. Chithra Vivek has graced numerous esteemed stages across Tamil Nadu, including Krishna Gana Sabha, Naradha Gana Sabha, and various temples, as well as performing at the Bangalore Townhall. Her performances include several dance ballets and dramas in Chennai and Cochin, where her ability to portray diverse roles like Lord Rama, Seetha, Basmasura, and Lord Shiva has captivated audiences. A significant milestone in her career was her portrayal of Sarada Devi in "Sarada Devi Charitham" at the Ramakrishna Mutt in Chennai during its 100th-year celebration. Beyond her performing career, Chithra Vivek possesses a natural inclination for teaching and is deeply committed to imparting her knowledge of music and dance to students globally through her initiative, Swaranatya. Her teaching methodology emphasizes professional training, including special preparation for stage performances and participation in dance recitals.
