Debina Nath is an emerging Indian classical dancer, primarily focusing on the Odissi dance form, which she describes as having a profound influence on her. Her deep love and passion for dancing have been a constant since her childhood, prompting her to explore a diverse range of dance styles including Bollywood, Contemporary, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, and Rabindra-nritya. Debina Nath began her formal training in Odissi in 2016 and has since been under the dedicated tutelage of her Guru Sohini Biswas. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Performing Art in Odissi Dance, a rigorous academic and practical endeavor that reflects her commitment to mastering this ancient Indian classical art form, which originated from Odisha. Her talent and unwavering dedication have been acknowledged through several significant awards and high rankings in both national and global competitions. In 2019, she was honored with the Chairman's award for securing the 4th position in the Global Odissi competition. The year 2020 proved to be a pivotal one in her artistic journey, as she achieved the All India and Global 3rd position in Odissi Dance and was also awarded a gold medal in the same discipline. Debina Nath has been an active participant in numerous competitions and festivals held in Kolkata, where her performances have consistently received appreciation. She has openly shared that a significant challenge she faced was maintaining her intensive dance practice while managing her high school studies, yet her immense pleasure in practicing Odissi motivated her to persevere. Her ongoing pursuit of a Bachelor of Performing Art in Odissi Dance underscores her aspiration to further excel and make a meaningful contribution to the rich and evolving tradition of Indian classical dance.
