Debosmriti Dandapat is a Kathak dancer, performer, and choreographer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She began her Kathak journey at the age of six, receiving training (talim) from Guru Debjani Sen and Guru Malay Bhattacharya. She is a graduate of Prayag Sangeet Samiti with a B. Muse. Additionally, she has had the privilege to learn from renowned Kathak dancer Guru Sandip Mallick since 2017. Debosmriti Dandapat is the founder of Upaj Classical Dance Academy in Dubai, which she established in 2013. Through her academy, she has been inspiring dancers for over 17 years, proudly guiding more than 423 students in Kathak and other dance forms. She has performed in numerous stage shows in Dubai, including various dance performances at the Consulate General of India, Dubai. Her accolades include a Certificate of Participation in a workshop conducted by Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj and an award from 'Big Idea Middle East' by 'Manipal University'. Upaj Academy offers a variety of dance genres, including Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Zumba, Bollywood, and Garba, along with music and art classes.
