Deepa Mani

Deepa Mani commenced her Bharatanatyam training at the age of four, under the guidance of her mother, Natyakalavathi Smt. Jaya Mani. She performed her Arangetram at the Sri Venkateswara Temple when she was twelve years old. Her foundational training also included instruction in the Kalakshetra Bani of Bharatanatyam from Shri K. Mohanan and Shri J. Suryanarayana Murthy. Deepa Mani has been actively involved in teaching, assisting her mother, Guru Smt. Jaya Mani, with dance classes at the Sri Venkateswara Temple for over 17 years. She has also established "Arangam," a dance initiative that offers Bharatanatyam classes in the San Jose Area. As a performer, Deepa Mani has presented solo performances in India, Africa (Kenya), South America (Brazil), and numerous locations across the United States. She has also undertaken key roles in group productions such as "Meenakshi Kalyanam" and "Aayarkula Thilakam." Her contributions to dance education include giving lecture demonstrations at the Byham Theater and choreographing dance items at Slippery Rock University. Additionally, she has participated in dance performances in Chennai, India, under the guidance of Smt. Revathi Ramachandran, and has attended dance workshops led by Smt. Revathi Ramachandran, Kumari Manasvini Ramachandran, and Smt. Chitra Dasarathy.
