Deepa Viswamohan is a widely acclaimed Kuchipudi dancer, teacher, and choreographer, holding a postgraduate degree in Master of Business Administration. She also serves as a secondary school teacher in England. Her dance journey began at the age of five, learning Andhranatyam under "Padmasri Bharatakalaprapoorna, Acharya Dr. Nataraja Ramakrishna." She later specialized in Kuchipudi, receiving training from "Natya Visaradha Mallika Ramprasad" and "Devarakonda Srinivas." Deepa also had the opportunity to learn at the Kuchipudi Art Academy in Chennai, under the esteemed guidance of "Padmabhushan Guru Dr. Vempati Chinnasatyam." Throughout her career, Deepa Viswamohan has delivered over 500 solo dance and ballet performances across India, the UK, and other countries, garnering critical acclaim. Some sources indicate over 600 solo performances. She has received special appreciation from judges at United Kingdom dance festivals for her exceptional "abhinayam" (expressions) in pieces like "Bhama kalapam," "Shabdams," and "Tarangam." In India, she portrayed lead roles in several dramas of Andhra Balananda Sangham and won numerous state and local dance competitions representing the organization and the Andhra Pradesh state government. Notably, she performed a lead role as "Yashodha" in "Krishnam Kalayasakhi Sundaram" alongside her Guru Mallika Ramprasad. Deepa has also ventured into dance choreography and research, aiming to explore creative aspects of classical dance and spread the Kuchipudi art form throughout the United Kingdom. Her prestigious performances include appearances at the British Parliament, the International Kuchipudi Dance Convention, and Diwali on Trafalgar Square. Deepa Viswamohan is the founder and director of "ABHINAYA FINE ARTS," a non-profit Indian dance school dedicated to the Kuchipudi style. The academy provides structured training, OFAAL examination pathways, and performance opportunities, operating across multiple UK locations including Aylesbury, Chesham, Milton Keynes, Luton, Dunstable, and East Ham London.
