Dhakshanayini Kamalanathan is a renowned Indian classical dancer and a dedicated practitioner of both Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi. She is recognized for her contributions to the art forms as a performer, choreographer, and esteemed guru. Kamalanathan is the founder and director of Sri Natya Lakshana Kshetra. Her academic background is distinguished; she graduated as a Gold Medalist with a B.A. from Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts, Trichy, and further pursued her Master's degree at the University of Madras, where she achieved a First Class with Distinction. Based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Dhakshanayini Kamalanathan is actively involved in teaching and promoting Indian classical dance. Through her academy, Sri Natya Lakshana Kshetra, she offers online and offline Bharatanatyam classes, nurturing the next generation of dancers. The academy regularly showcases the talents of its students through annual concerts and productions, demonstrating her commitment to a strong teaching legacy. Her work includes conceptualizing and choreographing various productions, such as the "Navarathri series 2022."
