Dipti Abhyankar is the Founder and Director of Dipti's Dance Academy, an institution dedicated to preserving and promoting Indian traditional dances in Canada. She commenced her dance training at the tender age of four. Her classical Bharatanatyam education was under the tutelage of Mrs. Margreat Malini Sam. Additionally, she received training in folk dances from Mr. Prashant Bhafalekar and in contemporary and Bollywood styles from Mr. Gururaj Korgaonkar. Abhyankar achieved her Master's Diploma in Bharatanatyam (Visharad) in 2002. Following her inaugural professional performance, known as her Arangetram, she was honored with the title of 'Nritya Shivali' by the Shivali Society of India for her exceptional Bharatanatyam performance. Before establishing her academy in Canada, Dipti Abhyankar had a significant career in Mumbai, India, where she successfully taught numerous students and choreographed various events for over two decades. She has also won several dance competitions, appeared on television dance shows, and represented her state in national-level folk dance competitions. In Canada, Dipti's Dance Academy emphasizes formal training in Indian Classical dance, particularly Bharatanatyam, and also offers sessions in Folk and Bollywood dance styles. The academy follows a curriculum-based syllabus for Bharatanatyam and prepares students for Diploma in Dance (Bharatanatyam) examinations from Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune. Dipti Abhyankar is known for her passion for dance and her belief that anyone can dance, having had the opportunity to work with blind and specially-abled students. Awards & Honours: Nritya Shivali.
