Dr. Dimple Nair (Rajesh) is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, primarily recognized as an exponent of Mohiniattam. She earned her Doctorate degree in Fine Arts from Mumbai University, where she was mentored by the revered Padmabhushan Dr. Kanak Rele. Her extensive training also includes a decade-long scholarship in Bharatanatyam from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) and a three-year National scholarship in Mohiniattam. Dr. Nair is the visionary Founder and Artistic Director of IAID (International Academy for Intercultural Development), a leading performing arts academy based in Qatar, which she established in 2001. Under her guidance, IAID provides certificate courses in Indian Classical Dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Mohiniattam, in affiliation with the Nalanda Dance Research Centre in Mumbai, India. Her illustrious career is marked by numerous national and international performances and choreographies. Dr. Nair proudly represented India at the Olympics 2000 in Australia and served as the Indian Dance Consultant for the 15th Doha Asian Games in 2006. She has graced prestigious festivals including Khajurao, Konark, Uttaradhikar, Young Dancers Festival in Trichur, Yuva Nritya Mahotsav, Geet Govind Festival, and Nrityotsav in Mumbai. Her international performances extend to the Dubai International Dance Festival, India at Mindil in Australia, and the International Folklore Dance Festival in Georgia. Dr. Nair's choreographic contributions in Qatar encompass significant events like "Creation of the Earth" for Reach out to Asia, the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, and the UNEP World Environment Day Celebrations. Through IAID, Dr. Nair continues to inspire and guide a multitude of young students, fostering their artistic development.
