Dr. Rasmitha Sasidharan, also known as Dr. Rasmitha Nair, is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and educator with over 30 years of experience in the performing arts. Hailing from Calicut, Kerala, and raised in Dubai, she has dedicated her life to mastering and propagating the rich traditions of Indian classical dance. She has accumulated over 20 years of stage experience and 15 years as a teacher, with 11 years contributing to the cultural landscape in the USA. Her extensive training began at the age of four under Kalamandalam Mini Radhakrishnan. She further honed her Bharatanatyam skills under Guru Deepa Ganesh, a disciple of Padma Shri Adyar Lakshmanan. Her Mohiniyattam training was guided by Guru Kalamandalam Kshemavathi, and her Kuchipudi education was shaped by Guru Manoj and Guru Hanumantha Rao from Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, she trained in folk dance under Job Master and attended workshops with revered Gurus such as Dr. Padma Subramanyam, Chitra Visweswaran, Sudharani Raghupathy, and The Dhananjayans. Dr. Rasmitha holds a Doctoral degree in Ayurveda from Kerala University and an MBA in Hospital Administration from ICFAI University. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Bharatanatyam from Aria University, California, and Post Graduate Diplomas in Nattuvangam and Kuchipudi. She is the founder and artistic director of Sripuram Dance Academy LLC, headquartered in Manteca, California, which has three additional branches. The academy is dedicated to nurturing young dancers in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, and other classical styles, emphasizing artistic authenticity and professional excellence.
