Dr. Sadara Supathum Peiris is a distinguished figure in Indian classical Kathak dance, holding a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy in Kathak Dance from Indira Kala Sangit University, Khairagarh, India. He has been honored with the 'NRITYA SRI' title for his performance in the Kiran International Kathak Dance Competition in India and received the Sri Lankan Youth Award for the Best Kathak Dancer. Dr. Peiris serves as a Kathak teacher at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Sri Lanka. He also taught Dancing and Health Science in upper school classes from 2021 to 2023 and is currently teaching at St. Benedict's. He is the founder of the Rangara Kathak Dance Academy and Sadara Arts Academy, contributing significantly to the propagation of Kathak dance in Sri Lanka. His disciples have performed vibrant Indian folk dances at cultural events such as the Bharat-Sri Lanka Maitri Utsav. Awards & Honours: NRITYA SRI, Sri Lankan Youth Award for the BEST KATHAK DANCER.
