Dr. Varun Khanna is a Chandigarh-based Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and practicing dentist, often known as "The Dancing Dentist" on social media. He received his training in the Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of the legendary Padmabhushan Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan and Mrs. Rama Vaidyanathan at Ganesa Natyalaya in New Delhi. Additionally, he has also trained as an Indian Classical Vocalist under Mrs. Kamala Srinivasan. Throughout his career, Dr. Khanna has performed at various national and international dance festivals. He is known for his interest in contemporary retellings of famous epics through his performances. Beyond his dance and dental professions, he is also a recognized photographer. Dr. Khanna actively teaches Bharatanatyam to students globally through online classes, in addition to offline classes. He is the author of "Bharatanatyam: A Complete Guide to Mastering the Art of Indian Classical Dance," an introductory book exploring the history, evolution, and elements of the dance form, published by Parragon Publications. The book was officially launched on February 7, 2025, in New Delhi. Awards & Honours: Kalashree (2021).
