Gayathri Govind is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, choreographer, actor, and entrepreneur, born in Trivandrum, Kerala, India. She began performing on various stages in India and abroad from the tender age of four. Govind is proficient in a wide array of classical dance forms, including Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, Ottanmthullal, Kathakali, Kathak, Keralanadanam, Yakshaganam, and Nangiarkoothu. She also explores semi-classical and modern dance styles such as Hip-hop, Jazz, and Contemporary. Gayathri Govind is the founder and head of her dance troupe, "Silver Streak," based in Trivandrum, and has choreographed numerous dance productions for the troupe. She also established and runs dance schools named "Thakadhimi" in Chennai and Trivandrum, and has a presence in Espoo, Finland. Her notable dance productions include 'Bhavasamhitha,' 'Aadiparasakthi,' 'Rama Ramethi,' and 'Gourishankaram.' Beyond her dance career, Gayathri Govind has a background as a software professional, having worked as a Senior Test Engineer at HCL Technologies in Chennai. She is also a familiar face on television, having anchored numerous programs and live shows on prominent Malayalam channels like Asianet, Surya TV, Kairali TV, and Doordarshan. She has also been a model for the "Society Tea" brand. Gayathri Govind holds a Bachelor of Technology degree and a Master's in Dance, and has completed a course in "Healing with the Arts" from the University of Florida. Awards & Honours: Kerala State Television Award (2024), Vodafone Thakadimi (2008), Golden Women Award (2015), 1st Prize in DHOOM Pro (2007), Best Director (Female) Award for short film SILU (2022), South Indian Cinema Television Academy Special Jury Award Best Actress for short film SILU, Best Director (Female) Award for short film Ninneyum Kaathu (2023).
