Bhupendra Bareth's artistic lineage is deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Raigarh, tracing back to his grandfather, Pt. Kartikram, an eminent Kathak dancer in the royal court of Raigarh. The Raigarh Gharana itself was established by Raja Chakradhar Singh in the early twentieth century, a patron of the arts who fostered a vibrant environment for dance and music.
