Ipshita Misra is a distinguished Kathak dancer, representing the seventh generation of a family deeply rooted in the art form. She is the granddaughter of the late Padmashri Pandit Shambhu Maharaj. Ipshita Misra received her initial grooming from her mother, Smt. Vaswati Misra, a renowned Kathak dancer and choreographer. She also benefited from the guidance of her uncle, the legendary Pandit Birju Maharaj, her father, Pt. Krishna Mohan Misra, and her aunt, Smt. Saswati Sen. Misra earned a diploma in Kathak from Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, and further completed her Nipun at the Pt. Shambhu Maharaj Kathak Academy under the tutelage of Smt. Vaswati Misra. Throughout her career, Ipshita Misra has performed extensively with her parents and Pandit Birju Maharaj. She has been featured as a young dancer in the dance journal 'Attendence' and was notably described as “The promising daughter of a famous mother” on an 'Archies' poster. She is a permanent member of the 'Dhwani' Repertory, an institution dedicated to promoting traditional dance and music, and serves as an eminent teacher at the Pt. Shambhu Maharaj Kathak Academy. Her performances have taken her across the globe, including the US, Canada, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, New Zealand, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and various countries in Europe. She has collaborated with notable artists such as Vikku Vinayakram, Ustad Zakir Hussain, and Gulzar Sahab on various choreographic projects. Awards & Honours: Shringar-Mani.
