Jaina Modasia is an emerging Kathak artist based in London, United Kingdom, who has garnered recognition for her performances both within the UK and internationally. She has received comprehensive training in Kathak under the tutelage of Guru Sujata Banerjee, successfully completing all examinations administered by the International Society for Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). Modasia is an integral part of the Sujata Banerjee Dance Company (SBDC) in London, where she has served as a teacher for several years. Her notable achievements include being a category finalist for BBC Young Dancer in both 2015 and 2017, where she was among five dancers selected to represent South Asian dance on a national platform. In 2017, she was also honored as the winner of the Navadal award. Modasia's performance repertoire extends to various prestigious venues and festivals. She performed at the Opening Gala of the Holland India Festival in The Hague in September 2016. More recently, she has performed at the WOMAD festival, an event where she also led workshops for approximately 100 students. Her dedication to Kathak is evident through her continuous training and her role in nurturing new talent at SBDC.
