Jwala Priyadarshini Rejimon is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer based in the USA, known for her expressive abhinaya and graceful performances. She began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of seven with Smt. Subha Prasanna in Fishers, Indiana. After her first teacher moved, she continued her studies with Smt. Vrinda Sunil, becoming the inaugural student of Natyalaya School of Dance, which commenced in 2007. At the age of 12, Jwala joined Smt. Mangala Anand, a disciple of Smt. Padmini Ramachandram and Smt. B. Bhanumati, who teaches the Vazhuvoor style of Bharatanatyam. Jwala completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram on August 15, 2015, at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center in Indiana, USA, under the guidance of Smt. Mangala Anand. Following her Arangetram, she furthered her training under esteemed gurus including Smt. Savithri Jagannatha Rao, an alumna of Kalakshetra and direct disciple of Guru 'Padma Bhushan' Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale. She also learned from Kalakshetra Professor Smt. Nityakalyani Vaidhyanathan, a disciple of Guru 'Padma Bhushan' Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan, and Guru Smt. Rhadha Ramanathan, who was taught by Vazhuvoor Ramaiyah Pillai. Her career includes performances at prestigious venues in Chennai, such as Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, R.K. Swamy Auditorium, and T.N. Rajarathnam Pillai Auditorium. She has also performed at the Karur Natyanjali Festival and the Chidambaram Natyanjali Festival. Jwala has been featured live on the Nadaneerajanam series at Thirupathi and twice on Kalaignar TV's Natya Utsavam series. In 2016, she was a prizewinner at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Bharathanatyam Competition, leading to her participation in the 2017 Srimad Bhagavatham dance productions. Jwala is the founder of Nrityapriya Fine Arts, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Bharatanatyam and other Indian Classical Dance forms in North Carolina, USA.
