Anisha Subramaniam is an Indian classical dancer and the founder of Kathak Raaga Germany, an institution dedicated to teaching and promoting Kathak dance in Munich, Germany. She initially trained in Bharatanatyam but later found her passion in Kathak. Subramaniam received her Kathak training under the guidance of Guru Rani Khanam, specializing in the Lucknow Gharana style. She also had initial training in the Jaipur style of Kathak. Her performances have taken her across India and Europe, aiming to introduce Kathak not only as a dance form but also as a form of wellness to European audiences. Kathak Raaga Germany was established in 2016, offering dance education in Munich. Anisha Subramaniam teaches the grace, literature, and poetry related to the Lucknow style of Kathak. Beyond regular classes, the academy also conducts online sessions and has produced dance education videos for the Indian Consulate in Munich. Subramaniam actively participates in cultural events, including the Munich government festival at Westpark since 2023, and has performed at prestigious venues such as the Indian Embassy in Berlin in 2018. She envisions collaborating with German musicians to create fusion performances and introducing Kathak in schools to foster focus and creativity in children.
