Katja-Shivani has been dancing Bharata Natyam for over three decades and was trained in the Kalakshetra style by renowned teachers such as Radha Sarma under whom she performed her Arangetram in 2007. She was granted her Master degree (MA in Dance - Bharata Natyam) from Tamil University in 2017. Meanwhile, she is a research scholar at the University of Erfurt.
