Kaushalya Reddy is a celebrated Indian classical Kuchipudi dancer, guru, and artistic director, recognized as a doyenne of the art form. Born in Hyderabad (now Telangana), she moved to Delhi in 1969 to live with her elder sister, Radha Reddy, and brother-in-law, Raja Reddy. Her initial training in Kuchipudi was under the esteemed guru Vedantam Rathiah Sharma, after which she became a senior disciple of the renowned dancing couple, Padmabhushans Drs. Raja Radha Reddy. She is also noted as the first student of the Natya Tarangini Kuchipudi dance school. Kaushalya Reddy co-founded the Natya Tarangini Kuchipudi dance school in New Delhi in 1976, alongside Raja Radha Reddy. She has established herself as a premier Kuchipudi artist, performing at prestigious venues globally, including Sadler's Well in London, the Hungarian Arts Festival, the New York Consulate, the Eden Derry Festival, Saka Tokyo, and Play House in South Africa. Her extensive international tours have covered the USA, Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the UAE. For decades, she was instrumental in managing and conducting the affairs of Raja-Radha Reddy's performances worldwide. Beyond her performance career, Kaushalya Reddy has dedicated herself to training students in Kuchipudi at Natya Tarangini. In 1998, she initiated the well-known annual 'Parampara Series' National festival of music and dance in New Delhi, tirelessly working towards the promotion of classical dance in India. She has also contributed to the development of a world-class performing arts center in New Delhi. She is married to Raja Reddy as his second wife. Currently, she focuses primarily on teaching and administration at Natya Tarangini. Awards & Honours: Padma Shri.
