Kavya G is a dancer and choreographer recognized for her contributions to both Indian classical and fusion dance forms. Born in the United States, she received formal training in Bharatanatyam from the age of four and a half until she was eighteen years old. Concurrently, she also pursued training in Jazz. During her time at the University of Arizona, Kavya G established a dance group named Om Shanti, which focused on blending Western and Eastern classical dance styles, achieving recognition and awards at various events. Driven by her passion for dance and a desire to teach, Kavya G relocated to Chennai, India, where she founded her dance studio, Black Swan Dance, in May 2016. Through her studio, she imparts a distinctive freestyle dance form she calls "Swanography," which integrates elements of hip hop, classical, and Tamil kuthu dance. Kavya G has also extended her expertise to the film industry, serving as a choreographer for Tamil and Malayalam films, and has choreographed for music videos. Her innovative performances on the Colors Tamil show "Dance VS Dance" earned her a spot in the semi-finals and garnered significant praise for their originality and expressive quality. Black Swan Dance has also undertaken international tours, conducting Swanography workshops in countries such as Switzerland, France, and America.
