Shrimati Kodhai Narayanan began her journey in Bharatanatyam at the tender age of four, receiving her initial training from her late father, Shri Gopalan Iyengar. Her early dance education continued under the guidance of notable gurus including the late Shri Kuppiah Pillai, Guru Shri Kalyana Sundaram, and Guru Shri Nagarajan, all at the esteemed Sri Rajarajeshwari Bharatha Natya Kala Mandir. It was under the auspices of this institution that she performed her Arangetram. Furthering her academic and artistic development, Kodhai Narayanan graduated in Fine Arts (Bharatanatyam) from the Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyala, Mumbai, which is affiliated with Bombay University. She also honed her techniques under the tutelage of the late Guru K. J. Govindarajan. In addition to her accomplishments in dance, she holds an M.A. in History and a B.Ed degree. Guru Kodhai Narayanan is recognized for her distinctive originality and creative expression, and she is dedicated to inspiring her students to achieve the highest standards in the art form. She is a Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher, primarily based in New Delhi, India, and is associated with Nritya Arpana.
