Laavanya Ghosh is an acclaimed Odissi dancer, performer, and instructor based in Kolkata, India. She began her journey in Odissi after her family relocated to Bhubaneshwar. Ghosh initially received training under the guidance of Smt. Nandini Ghoshal and is currently a disciple of Guru Smt. Poushali Mukherjee. She is recognized as an Empanelled Doordarshan Artist in Prasar Bharti Doordarshan Kendra Kolkata and a Graded Artist in the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC). Ghosh has won several national-level competitions and performed at various prestigious festivals across India. She pursued her higher education in dance, completing her Dance Honours and later her Masters in Dance from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. Laavanya Ghosh is also the founder and head of Hamshadhwani Dance School & Studio, where she is dedicated to preserving and promoting the intricate art of Odissi. She is known for her choreographic work, including semi-classical pieces, and has experimented with virtual choreographies that have garnered significant appreciation. Ghosh has been actively involved in teaching, aiming to enrich and nourish the culture of her art form.
