Lakshmi Iyengar is a distinguished Bharatanatyam dancer and the Co-Artistic Director of the Rangoli Dance Company, based in Los Angeles, USA. She is a disciple of renowned gurus Narmada, Malathi Iyengar (her mother), and Bragha Bessell. Iyengar has performed extensively across the USA, Canada, and India, including during the prestigious December music and dance festival season in Chennai and Bangalore. As a lead dancer for the Rangoli Dance Company, she has featured in all of Malathi Iyengar's choreographic works. Beyond her dance career, Lakshmi Iyengar also has a significant career in the film and television industry, having worked in film acquisitions and development for major studios such as Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Sony Pictures, and Dev Patel's Minor Realm, before becoming an agent at CAA. She holds a Masters in Entertainment Industry Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.A. in Theater (Production Design) and Italian from the University of California, Los Angeles. Iyengar has also served as a production designer for Rangoli productions since 2001 and is an adjunct faculty member for Carnegie Mellon's Masters in Entertainment Industry Management program.
