Lalitha Ganapathy is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and guru, based in Chennai, India. She is a senior disciple of the esteemed Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, under whose direct tutelage she continues to train in Nrithya Sali (108 karanas). Ganapathy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Bharatanatyam) from Sastra University, Thanjavur. Her extensive training also includes Abhinaya from Guru Smt. Bragha Bessel and Carnatic music from Guru Smt. Bhakiyalakshmi Sigamani. As a performer, Lalitha Ganapathy regularly presents solo Bharatanatyam recitals and has performed in various sabhas, including Krishna Gana Sabha, Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, and Rasika Ranjani Sabha. She is also known for performing in group productions. Beyond performing, she is a dedicated teacher and the founder of the Sri Noopurlaya School of Performing Arts, located in Velachery, Chennai. At her academy, she imparts her knowledge and passion for Bharatanatyam to numerous students. Ganapathy is recognized with the title "Acharya Kala Vipanchee." She is also an active choreographer, having choreographed several pieces for her students, including "Shadaksharam," "Yadhumagi Nindrai," "Shanmuga Kandhanum," "Ranjani," "Chinanchiru Penn Pole," "En Nenjil Palli Kondavan," "Jaya Jaya Devi," and "Bhaje Mrudanga." Her role extends to nattuvangam, as seen in the orchestra for the production 'Sri Desika Vaibhavam'. Under her guidance, Sri Noopurlaya has presented significant productions, such as 'Sri Desika Vaibhavam', a dance drama on the saint-philosopher Vedanta Desika, which was covered by The Hindu.
